Accenture has entered into an agreement to acquire Ookla, a global provider of network intelligence and connectivity analytics. The move is designed to strengthen Accenture’s ability to support enterprises, communications providers, and cloud operators with advanced data insights as demand for resilient digital infrastructure grows.
Expanding Network Intelligence For AI Driven Enterprises
Through this acquisition, Accenture will integrate Ookla’s well known connectivity platforms, including Speedtest, Downdetector, Ekahau, and RootMetrics, into its service portfolio. These tools provide data on network performance, outages, and user experience across mobile and fixed infrastructure.
As artificial intelligence adoption accelerates, enterprises increasingly rely on strong connectivity to support data processing, cloud workloads, and real time applications. Network intelligence now extends beyond telecom operations and plays a central role in industries such as banking, utilities, retail, and manufacturing.
Ookla’s platform captures more than one thousand attributes per connectivity test. This includes signal strength, latency, and performance indicators at the device and application levels. For businesses, such granular insights support fraud detection systems, smart infrastructure management, and digital commerce optimization.
Accenture leadership stated that modern networks function as core business platforms rather than background infrastructure. Without accurate measurement of network performance, companies face difficulty in improving user experience, security, and revenue outcomes. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Seattle, Ookla operates as a division of Ziff Davis. The company employs approximately 430 specialists across software engineering, radio frequency engineering, and data science. Its data ecosystem includes more than 250 million consumer-initiated tests per month, supported by drive testing, walk testing, and embedded measurement systems.
The acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions and required approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
